Founded in 1978, Gorno's Speciality Foods Ltd has built an enviable reputation for quality and customer service. Father and Son Franco and Andy Gorno  Managing Director Franco Gorno, who came from Italy in 1952, founded the company. He comes from a long line of Salumifico, salami and pepperoni sausage makers. Many years of knowledge and experience combined with modern manufacturing techniques have helped make GORNO'S SPECIALITY FOODS what it is today: an outstanding company of excellence. _______________________________ Gorno's story begins in Cardiff in 1976 where Franco and his son Andy opened the delicatessen come continental butchery. This small family business soon thrived with local retail customers. Also, supplying local restaurants and several wholesalers with their own production of salami and Italian style sausages increased interest and recognition of Gorno's products . Also, with a trend towards pizza consumption in the UK rapidly growing, the demand for Gorno's premium quality pepperoni and gouli sausage increased resulting in the relocation in 1997 to a new EEC factory in Cardiff with continued growth. _______________________________ Meticulous attention is paid to the production of Gorno's products from selecting the finest quality meats and freshly ground spices, this combined with traditional family recipes and modern production facilities result in exceptional quality produce. Gorno's has now established itself as one of the leading producers of premium quality pepperoni and continental sausages in the UK, supplying pizza manufacturers and distributors nationwide. The great success of Gorno's pepperoni is attributed to the absence of any rusk or fillers; only 100% meat is used. A fermentation process followed by a period of 48 hours air-drying results in a demi-sec product, which gives a low shrink rate and a moist succulent end result even at high temperatures. Also, in Gorno's product range is a selection of 100% meat , gluten free continental style sausages, very versatile and delicious, popular in restaurants and wholesalers throughout the UK. _______________________________ The Future The future is very bright for Gorno's Speciality Foods with continued growth, constant recognition for Gorno's products and plans for expansion over the coming year.
